The stems typically range from 50 to 150 centimetres (20 - 60 inches) in length, and eventually old leaves fall off, leaving the stems visible
The leaves are ovate-accuminate, 50 – 70 centimetres (20 – 28 inches) long and 12–16 centimetres (5 – 6 inches) wide, pale in color, ranging from a light grey to a light yellowish green. There are no teeth, nor terminal spines. The inflorescence is a dense raceme 2.5 - 3 metres (8 - 10 feet) high, with greenish-yellow flowers.
