In the opinion of many landscapers, they are the perfect palm:
COLD HARDY down to -10 degrees, according to Wikipedia.
DROUGHT TOLERANT. They need little water, but appreciate occasional deep irrigation in the hottest months.
FLOURISH ANYWHERE. They do well in full sun or partial shade.
The beautiful leaves of the BRAHEA ARMATA are a magical combination of silver and blue/green, which makes them sought after in gardens throughout Europe and the Middle East.
BRAHEA ARMATA palms of any size are not freely available. They are usually sold as small palms, because they are slow growing when young. In Spanish plantations, seedlings can take 10 years to surpass 60 cm – 80 cm, so trunks of 50+ cm are highly prized and are not easy to find.
Occasionally, specimens of 70 cm – 170 cm do become available, but they attract a premium price. If you are looking for such palms, please call Paddy on +34 600 810 844
