Butia Capitata/Odorata palms are beautifully stylish and with their large, arcing leaves, they are one of the most entrancing of all palms. Butia Capitata/Odorata have stout trunks and are generally available in small sizes. Rather like Brahea Armata, trunk heights of more than 50 cm command premium prices, as they are slow growing.
The leaves of Butia Capitata/Odorata can be lighter green with a blue/grey tinge. With their amazing long fronds, these palms, once seen, are never forgotten.
Butia Capitata/Odorata are some of the most cold hardy of all palms, down to -11 degrees C., according to Wikipedia.
