PHOENIX CANARIENSIS Palm Trees – CANARY ISLAND DATE PALM (Known as CIDP)

The beautiful sweep of the splendid, green leaves of the PHOENIX CANARIENSIS builds the ultimate picture of life around the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

The PHOENIX CANARIENSIS is a firm favourite with everybody and is much prized by landscapers, but because of its popularity, taller examples are becoming less easy to find.

Prices of specimen Phoenix Canariensis with trunks taller than 1.8 metres seem to rise rapidly, almost on a monthly basis, as more and more customers emerge, seeking a dwindling supply.  It is possible that 2017 might well see the exhaustion of these specimens on the Spanish market and anybody contemplating a large planting schedule would be well advised to contact us as soon as possible.

Growers regularly plant and nurture seedlings of Phoenix Canariensis under the Spanish sun, so smaller sizes are usually available.

These palms do need constant spraying with insecticide, as weevils enjoy them as much as humans do!
