Trachycarpus Fortunei Palm Trees - Chamaerops Excelsa

TRACHYCARPUS FORTUNEI is our hardiest palm, tolerant down to -17 degrees C, according to Wikipedia. It grows in Scotland and in some southern, Scandinavian areas. It even tolerates being covered by snow.

We supply TRACHYCARPUS FORTUNEI in trunk heights of 60 cm – 160 cm, but we can occasionally find taller specimens. Please ask us and we will tell you what is currently available.

We call it the “hairy, wonder palm” because of its “teddy bear” trunk, its cold hardiness and the fact that it does not need much trimming or maintenance. (You will see these palms thriving in gardens throughout the UK and Europe. Whole groves are to be seen in the gardens of the grand villas built around “The Lakes” area of Italy, where temperatures plunge during winter nights).
